  5. The thing I hear most often is the word that (pronounced dat) put in front of ANY word to emphasize the meaning, importance, extremeness, etc. Such as "Ms. Sanders is DAT crazy!" or "Jarrod is THAT cool" Like the craziest or the coolest EVER. haha. I love it.

  6. My students like to say "pwned" (rhymes with owned).

According to Urban Dictionary, the origin of this word is:

"A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation."

  7. Stoner: Literally a person who acts like a stone, a person who is often blanc at times, or stares at random objects for a prolonged time.

Cool Story Bro: A phrase sarcastically used to indicate one's disgust or indifference towards an extremely boring story.

Noob (Often n00b): Usually used by FPS (First person shooter) gamers to label "Under-achieving" teammates or enemies. Means that "YOU SUCK!"

gg (good game): Original meaning from good sportsmanship competitions, corrupted to its current meaning by the game Starcraft, indicates that it was a "good game" that they played, and that there is no way of winning. (Also means "Dammit, I just got pwned")

  9. Some occupations can be shortened and this is particularly popular in Australia. The common shortening is to take of the last letters of the word and add in -ie. For example:

    Biker becomes Bikie
    Tradesman becomes Tradie
    Fireman becomes Fireie
However there are some irregular words such as electrician

    Electrician does NOT become Electricie
    Electrician becomes Sparky
